Licensing Manager

LOCATION: MENA (Middle East & North Africa)

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:                                                    

The Licensing Manager is responsible for developing, maintaining and managing all nursery, grower and marketer relationships and activities in the territory. This person plays a key role in helping to drive awareness of Sun World’s varieties and to stimulate adoption and growth of planted acreage of those licensed varieties. Creative analysis, independent thought, and a proactive approach to adding value to the organization are key elements of this position.

LOCATION: Remotely, in Europe or MENA countries.

HOURS: 80 – 100 days of domestic and international travel anticipated. Periodic weekends and longer hours required on occasion


Sun World’s Licensing Manager is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the Sun World variety distribution model in the production territories of MENA by initiating, maintaining and/or revising procedures and structures to drive the process in the MENA Production and Global Sales Territories.

  • Build the business in MENA production territories
  • Build relationships with Licensed Producers & Distributors
  • Improve efficiencies and reduce risk in the business
  • Variety evaluation and reports
  • Importation and quarantine of new proprietary varieties
  • Manage all plant material orders
  • Licensing agreement and administration
  • Finance, budget and manage all revenue and expenses
  • Technical support to growers and R&D


  • Bachelors’ Degree in agriculture or business required; master’s degree in agriculture or business preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in the International Fruit Industry or FMCG, ideally with proven history of working with and understanding the needs of fresh fruit or vegetable producers, marketers and/or retailers in the MENA countries.
  • Must have a keen sense of urgency and ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced, changing environment.
  • Must have been part of a multi-cultural, multi-functional leadership team applying customer relationship skills to the overall business and new business development.
