Junior Database Administrator and Data Analyst

LOCATION: Northern/Central California

We play an integral role in connecting international teams and departments together by connecting their data. Developing and maintaining a single source of truth is at the core of what we do. We lead the way in building a vast and complex data system, with a constant focus on systemic process improvements. We design clear reports and dashboards using this data system for various stakeholders throughout the organization.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

You will work closely with the Data Systems Manager & Business Analyst to support in designing and administering a new ERP / BI System. This role offers a unique opportunity to design and contribute to both the front & back end of a growing and complex agricultural data network. The role will help shape the data driven future of a growing team and will require an experienced, independent thinker with a track record of excellent design, strategic thinking, and attention to detail.

REPORTS TO: Data Systems Manager & Business Analyst HOURS: Full Time

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Configuration, administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting of relational database management systems.
  • Ensuring reliability, stability, and scalability of a database environment.
  • Planning, coordinating, and implementing database security measures to safeguard information.

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, statistics, or a related field

  • 1 to 3 years’ experience in administration of MS SQL databases

  • Strong ETL skills

  • Expertise in SQL & SSIS/SSMS, IBM Cognos and Framework Manager experience preferred

  • Experience using APIs to extract data from internal and external web applications

  • Experience manipulating data and defining relationships across multiple data sources

  • Experience designing responsive and dynamic dashboards and reports for various stakeholders

  • Strong knowledge of database principles, design methods, and best practices

  • Knowledge of advanced statistical concepts (time series, FGLS regressions, pooled & panel data, IVs,

    etc.) a plus

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The position is regularly required to sit, use hands-to-finger, handle controls, and talk and hear. The employee is required to stand, walk, and stop. Employee must regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus, as well as work with a computer monitor and in the field.
