China Country Manager

LOCATION: China and specific location to be agreed upon

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The China team is responsible for expanding the Sun World business in China, managing the IP- patent processes, industry and government relationships, and licensing of Sun World proprietary varieties with nurseries, growers and distributors.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY                                                            

The China Country Manager will be responsible for leading the team. the business and all elements of  implementing the strategic growth plan objectives

WORK WITH: Sun World China team and affiliated professional support network

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Managing all aspects of the China business including staff, staffing, legal, finance, accounting, intellectual property, tax, and agronomy
• Driving strategic growth and business development
• Developing and implementing plans and processes to optimize the business
• Commercial negotiations and legal agreement management
• Developing and maintaining relationships with government and industry personnel
• Preparing plans, reports and analysis

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS & PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Has Chinese citizenship or full-time residency qualifications
• Fluent in both Chinese and English
• Bachelor’s degree or above, related to agriculture or commerce
• 10 years + experience in agriculture, understanding the agriculture value chain
• Well-rounded, strategic, commercial and staff leadership skills
• Strong commercial negotiation skills
• Ability to develop, manage and maintain relationships
• Understanding of intellectual property-plant patent licensing
• Entrepreneurial self-motivated and engaging leader with strong sense of responsibility
• Excellent oral, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The candidate will be required to travel regularly, sit, use hands-to-finger, handle controls, and talk and hear. The employee is required to stand, walk, and stop. Employee must regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus, as well as work with a computer monitor and in the field.
