Consumer Handling Tips
Storage Life: Refrigerator – 5 days
Selection: Choose plums that are slightly firm and have good color. When fully ripe, plums are soft to the touch.
Storage: Store at room temperature until ripe. Once ripe, store in the refrigerator away from ethylene producing fruit (apples, pears, bananas).
Ripening: To accelerate ripening place plums in a paper bag with a banana, pear or apple. Once the plum reaches your preferred ripeness, remove and store it away from such fruit to avoid over ripening.
Preparation: Wash hands thoroughly for 20 seconds with warm soap and water. Rinse under cool water (no soap) and pat dry.
