The time has come for Al to pass the baton and what a perfect time for him to do so. I want to thank Al for devoting four years of his “retirement time” to leading this organization and for providing me with the opportunity to work with such a great group of people.
First, let me give you just a bit of background information about me. I am a Californian, born and raised, although I did not grow up in the Central Valley. I was born in Southern California and raised in Northern California; I graduated from Long Beach State and have a Bachelor of Science degree with an emphasis in Accounting and a double major in Quantitative Systems. After finishing my degree I also went on to earn my Certified Public Accountant license and worked for a firm in Southern California until moving to Visalia in 1984.
I have spent most of my professional career over the last 25 years involved in strategic management in the agricultural industry, all of which had a major emphasis in the stone fruit and table grape industry.
My main focus at Sun World will be on profitability through key initiatives including:
