Community Involvement
We don’t just feed the world. We try to make it a better
place. To that end, we work with industry and educational organizations to help
students interested in agricultural careers achieve their dreams. We’ve donated
salad bars to local schools to encourage kids to develop healthy eating habits.
And we’ve raised and donated funds for initiatives that matter to our
employees, our customers and our consumers. Essentially, we align ourselves
with efforts that support the communities where we live, work and sell our
produce.
Organizations we’ve worked with:
- PMA Foundation for Industry Talent
- Produce for Better Health Foundation
- United Fresh’s Salad Bar in Every School Initiative
- Future Farmers of America
- American Cancer Society
- Links for Life
- Habitat for Humanity
Produce Industry Involvement
In addition to boosting community efforts, Sun World works
with a number of industry organizations to share information and address issues
integral to the agricultural community. We serve as board and committee members
to encourage advancements in areas such as variety development, traceability, sustainability,
labor resources, water resources and fresh produce consumption. Summits and
networking events allow us to connect with fellow growers and our customers to
improve the ways we grow and sell produce around the world.
Ultimately, our goal is to be a leader in the produce
industry. We want to positively impact important agricultural issues, encourage
philanthropic efforts and promote the consumption of healthy fruits and
vegetables.
We are proud to work with:
- United Fresh Produce Association
- Produce Marketing Association
- Western Growers Association
- California Table Grape Commission
- California Grape & Treefruit League
- Canadian Produce Marketing Association
- Eastern Produce Council
- Fresh Produce & Floral Council
- AgSafe
